1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, submitting a job posting, or completing any stage of the candidate assessment on veer.ie, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.
2. What Veer is
Veer ("Veer", "we", "us") operates an AI-assisted recruitment platform connecting candidates with employers in the UK and Ireland, using an explainable scoring model rather than opaque keyword matching.
3. Terms for candidates
Candidates are never charged to apply, at any stage, for any reason. If anyone asks you to pay to apply through Veer, it is not us — please report it immediately.
- You must provide accurate information about yourself, your experience, and your qualifications. Misrepresenting your identity or qualifications is grounds for disqualification from an assessment and removal from the platform.
- You may complete each timed assessment stage only once per application, in one browser session, without external assistance during the coding stage (Stage 2) — see section 4.
- Video and text you submit during assessments are used only to evaluate your application for the specific role you applied to, per our Privacy Policy.
- You keep ownership of your CV, cover letter, and any original content you submit. You grant Veer a limited licence to use it solely to process your application and, where you've consented, to match you to other roles.
4. Assessment integrity
To keep results fair and comparable across candidates, timed assessments are server-timed and cannot be paused or extended by closing your browser. Stage 2 (coding) must be completed without generative AI tools, external assistance, or another person — focus changes and similar signals are recorded as contextual evidence for human review, and are never treated as automatic proof of misconduct. Confirmed unauthorised assistance may end your candidacy for that role.
5. Terms for employers
- You're responsible for the accuracy of job postings and for ensuring they comply with applicable employment and equality law (including not posting discriminatory requirements).
- You may use candidate data made available to you through Veer only to evaluate that candidate's application — not for any other purpose, and not shared onward without the candidate's knowledge.
- You must not attempt to contact a candidate to request payment, bypass the platform's assessment process, or ask a candidate to waive their data protection rights.
6. Payment
Employer subscription and vacancy-posting fees are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your card details. Prices shown at checkout are the prices charged; recurring plans renew automatically until cancelled from your account settings. Enterprise pricing is agreed separately in writing.
7. Intellectual property
The Veer name, scoring methodology, and platform design are our intellectual property. Job postings remain the employer's content; CVs and application materials remain the candidate's content, each licensed to Veer only as described above.
8. Automated scoring
Veer's Scorecard is a decision-support tool, not a decision-maker. Consistent with UK/EU GDPR Article 22, no automated score alone determines whether a candidate advances, and a qualified human always makes the final call at every stage. See our Privacy Policy for how this works.
9. Liability
The platform is provided "as is" during its current build phase. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Veer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate access for a confirmed breach of these terms (including assessment misconduct or fraudulent job postings), after giving you a reasonable opportunity to respond except where immediate action is needed to protect other users. You may close your account and request deletion of your data at any time — see our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform develops. Material changes will be notified on this page with an updated "last updated" date; continued use after a change means you accept the update.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do candidates ever get charged anything?
No. Candidates are never charged for using Veer — assessments, coding rounds, interviews, and applying to jobs are free. Only employers pay subscription or vacancy-posting fees.
How is my employer subscription billed?
Payments are processed securely by Stripe — we never store your card details. Recurring plans renew automatically until you cancel from your account settings; enterprise pricing is agreed separately in writing.
What counts as assessment misconduct?
Switching tabs or windows during a timed stage is treated as a confirmed integrity violation and can end that assessment attempt and result in suspension. This is separate from an honest failure, which only carries a short retake cooldown.
Can an automated score alone reject my application?
No. Consistent with GDPR Article 22, the Scorecard is a decision-support tool, not a decision-maker — a qualified human always makes the final call at every stage.
Can I close my account and delete my data?
Yes, at any time, through your account settings — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what deletion does and doesn't remove.
